American Soprano Rochelle Hart hails from, and is now based in, Portland, Oregon. She spent the last 12 years living, working and singing in the UK and Europe, where she attended the Wales International Academy of Voice (WIAV) Saturday Academy, the London Masterclasses vocal course at the RNCM, and the Concurso Internacional de Canto Montserrat Caballé in Spain. Rochelle also received private tuition from Nelly Miricioiu, Nataliya Kompaniyets-Jouri, and dramatic soprano Jane Irwin, as well as coaching from James Hendry and Jeremy Silver.
Role highlights included: Abigaille (Nabucco, Preston Opera); Leonora (Il Trovatore), title role in Anna Bolena and Maria Stuarda, and Elisabetta (Roberto Devereux) for Opera Seria; title role in Anna Bolena, Tosca, and Giovanna d’Arco for #OperaCo; Santuzza (Cavalleria Rusticana, BoltonOpera74); Kate Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly) and understudy of Tosca and Cio-Cio San (Madama Butterfly) for Bowdon Festival Opera; and Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni, #OperaCo/Chorlton Arts Festival/Buxton Fringe Festival).
On the concert platform, highlights include: soprano solo in Rossini’s Stabat Mater with Thornbury Choral Society and Camerata, soprano solo in Handel’s Messiah for the Manchester Messiah with Gorton Philharmonic and also at Manchester Cathedral, soprano solo in Rossini’s Petite messe solennelle with Pennine Singers, and a performance of Strauss Vier Letzte Lieder and Isolde’s Liebestod at St Mary-in-the-Baum, Rochdale.
